The Jobs Era ClosesPosted: August 24, 2011
Steve Jobs has resigned as CEO of Apple, effective immediately. He’ll stay on as Chairman of the board, but his day-to-day management has ended. Tim Cook takes over as CEO, which is an excellent choice. His resignation statement makes it clear that he no longer feels up to the task of running the company, which hopefully does not mean that his many health issues are worsening. I wish Jobs the best for whatever the future holds, and look forward to Apple’s next move. Is it too much to hope for a Steve keynote this fall despite his diminished role?
